Rise Against

Letterpress project for a band. I had to create a band poster using only two colors, the use of imagery either an illustration or photograph and a location where the band would be playing. The album for Rise Against is called "Wolves". For the illustration I decided to do a linoleum wood cut on a scenery of a wolf getting revenge. I got this idea by creating a word list and combining the meaning of each song in the album.

Oak Edge

Oak Edge is a name of a community complex for those who like the atmosphere and going on adventures in the mountains. The facility is made near the edge of  the Appalachian mountains in North Carolina with the best view in any mountain location. My inspiration for the logo comes from my love for the mountains and how quiet and peaceful the environment is. I incorporated the peaks into the acorn to identify with one of the main trees in the region.

Wayfinding App

Jenkins Fine Art Center wayfinding app specializes in the simplicity of finding an ECU's students classroom faster from a click of a button. I focused on establishing an app that was simple, yet filled with  characteristics from the signage of the wayfinding system. The biggest challenge I faced with the app was the functionality of creating something fast for a visitor to use when they are lost in the building or need a simpler way to get to their location.

Modular Typeface

My modular typeface is created by using only the shapes made up by a chicken I created out of the shapes and various sizes of those different shapes. I was challenged to push the type's readability without losing it, and to create two posters that would show off its aesthetic function and its application on the other. The last poster was using the functionality of the typeface to make an advertisement.
